Merrill Marching Jays Perform “Echoes of Darkness” for Locals, Prepare for State Championships

MERRILL – On Monday evening, October 14, the Merrill Marching Jays delivered a powerful performance of Echoes of Darkness for family, friends, and community members in the High School Auditorium. The 53-member band, including 10 seniors, has presented the show at competitions across Northcentral Wisconsin, recently earning a second-place finish. Sectional leaders support their assigned sections and inspire a passion for performing music. Beyond development of musical skills, members also build coordination, body awareness, and teamwork. Merrill Marching Jays Place 2nd At Greendale Marching Invitational

MERRILL – On Saturday October 5, the Merrill Marching Jays competed in the Greendale Marching Invitational. The Marching Jays came away with two recognitions, as they placed 2nd overall with a score of 72.825 and were also recognized as Best Percussion in Class AA. The second place score was an eight point jump from two weeks ago during the competition at Franklin High School. The Marching Jays ranked 2nd overall amongst the 13 bands competing, regardless of class designation.
