LINCOLN COUNTY – Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 21 traffic stops, 15 security checks, and 23 calls involving cars hitting deer. There were six calls for unsafe driving. On Friday Nov. 8th, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Leafy Grove Rd and STH 64 in the Town of Corning for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. The driver, a 75-year-old man from Merrill, believed he fell asleep at the wheel. He complained of rib pain and was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital by ambulance.

There were seven calls for unsafe driving. On Monday Oct 7, a deputy stopped a vehicle on US Hwy 8 near Woodland Dr for speeding. The 35-year-old driver from Grand Rapids Mi was found to be in possession of Marijuana, and further search revealed more illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
