LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT WEEK ENDING MARCH 9
LINCOLN COUNTY – Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 26 traffic stops, 44 security checks, 5 calls involving cars hitting deer, and one report of a car hitting a bird. There were nine reports of unsafe driving.
On Saturday March 8th, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver traveling S/B on USH 51 near the 224-mile marker. The vehicle was reportedly rolling across the middle lane and the rumble strips repeatedly. A deputy was able to locate the vehicle and completed a traffic stop near the 211-mile marker after observing similar driving behavior. The deputy noticed the 55-year-old male driver from Hatley exhibiting signs of impairment, so he asked him to perform sobriety tests. The driver was then placed under arrest for second offense OWI and resisting arrest and later was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
