MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 51 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1,613 calls. There were 41 calls requesting EMS services, excluding one call of a motorcycle accident on Friday, September 13th. The accident occurred on US Hwy 51 in the Town of Merrill and resulted in a fatality.

Firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Tuesday September 10 on North Center Ave in Merrill. A call was received on Monday September 9 reporting a building fire that resulted in heavy fire, smoke and heat damage on Mary Todd Court in the Town of Rock Falls.
