Merrill Hit With Widespread Power Outage on Tuesday September 17

MERRILL – The City of Merrill experienced a widespread power outage on Tuesday, September 17th around 12:20 PM. The outage affected nearly 3500 customers, per Wisconsin Public Service.

Service was interrupted due to a downed power line on Logan Ave. behind the River County CO-OP Country Store. The line was clipped by the flagpole atop the old River County Feed mill as it fell to the ground during a scheduled demolition.

Power was restored to the majority of the area by 1:56 PM. The remaining 46 customers saw their power restored later in the day, following completion of repairs.
