Friends of Council Grounds Annual Photo Contest: Local Nature Lovers Can Now Cast Their Vote

MERRILL – If you live in Wisconsin’s great Northwoods, chances are you are a nature lover. Residents of Merrill and Lincoln County are fortunate to be the home of Council Grounds State Park, the perfect venue to enjoy all that nature has to offer. From the vast array of wildlife to the campgrounds, lakes and rivers, the Park serves hikers and runners with its naturally hewn exercise trails and soothes peace-seekers with its natural beauty.

Recently, Friends of Council Grounds hosted the 2024 version of their annual photo contest. Information was shared with local Shutterbugs earlier this year requesting that they submit their wildlife, plant growth and other images that they’ve captured in the park over the past couple of years. Organizers of the event sifted through the numerous submissions and though it was a challenge, they were able to narrow the field down to three photos for each category. They have now turned over judging responsibilities to the public. Those wishing to participate in this opportunity to rank the finalists can do so by visiting the Friends of Council Grounds Facebook page, where each category is represented by its own separate post. Simply click on “like” or “love” to choose your favorite photo.

Nature loversĀ are free to cast their vote through the end of August.
