Merrill Police Department Report Week Ending July 21

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 10 incidents last week.

Four calls were received for disorderly conduct and property damage, one of those involving public intoxication where the male subject was arrested immediately for bail jumping. He was in violation of open bond conditions.

There was one report of a fire involving an ATV.  One call was received for theft of a fishing pole, where a male suspect who had been drinking had an open bond with absolute sobriety. He was taken into custody. There was one call for historic sexual assault which is under investigation. A report of a public nuisance at Aspirus Merrill Hospital came in where a male patient who was attempting to leave the facility was then transported to North Central Health Care Center. 

Officers conducted one traffic stop involving a vehicle swerving on the highway. The occupants were found to be juveniles and were issued citations for speed and tobacco violations. There was one arrest resulting from a report of an individual with an active warrant. The individual was taken to the Lincoln County Jail.
