Merrill Restaurant Hosts Fundraiser Honoring Fallen Lincoln Hills Youth Counselor
MERRILL – Los Mezcales restaurant on east Main Street in Merrill was filled to capacity Wednesday evening July 3rd. The occasion was a fundraiser for Corey Proulx, who lost his life on June 25th during an assault by a disgruntled student, while performing his duties as a Youth Counselor at Lincoln Hills School.
A number of those attending the event wore T-shirts adorned with a heart-shaped flag symbol, along with the sentiment “COREY OUR HERO END OF WATCH 6.25.24.”
A percentage of the proceeds from the evening along with funds collected from a raffle that was held will be donated to Corey’s family to help cover funeral and other expenses. Proulx. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
