Early Thursday Morning Near Irma Fire Ends In Total Loss
Around 4:45 AM yesterday (Thursday, May 9th) Local Fire Crews were called to the scene of a fire that destroyed a home near Irma. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The home was located along Grandfather Falls on Faufau Avenue near the County Highway E Bridge, on Highway 107. Both the home & unattached garage were considered a total loss. A portion of Highway 107 both northbound & southbound needed to be closed for 2 hours as a result of the fire. The highway has since been reopened.
