MARCH GOES OUT LIKE A LION, CAUSING POWER OUTAGES AND WIDESPREAD DAMAGE
The weekend storms that made their way across the area left a trail of damage across area roads, trees and power lines. State Hwy 64 in Pine River was closed Sunday morning through early afternoon due to a downed power line and an electrical transformer fire just outside the Pine River Fire Department. Though they lost power as a result of the fire and downed lines, the Department was able to switch over to generator power backup. Peak power outage totals from the storm showed around 56K customers affected across Northeastern Wisconsin. As of Monday evening, almost 38K customers still did not have power restored.
