MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING MARCH 23

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to seven incidents last week. There were two accidents in local parking lots, the first a hit and run and the second a motorcycle crash where the driver was cited for operating without a valid license. There was a report of potential fraud that was dismissed due to lack of criminal intent. Two reports were received for possession of illegal substances, a student with a nicotine vape and a traffic stop where the officer noticed the odor of marijuana leading to discovery of methamphetamine, and an open warrant for reckless homicide. There was one report of theft, and one report of disorderly conduct at a local bar that led to resisting and obstructing an officer and battery/threat to an officer.
