DRIVER HITS TREE IN MERRILL, ARRESTED FOR OWI

MERRILL – On Monday March 3rd at 7:27pm, the Merrill Police Department received a call that a driver had crashed into a tree and it was possible that he was intoxicated. The officer who came to the scene observed characteristics indicative of intoxication, and the driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

LINCOLN COUNTY – Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 26 traffic stops, 44 security checks, 5 calls involving cars hitting deer, and one report of a car hitting a bird. There were nine reports of unsafe driving. On Saturday March 8th, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver traveling S/B on USH 51 near the 224-mile marker.
