MERRILL – QPR training will be offered in March and April through a partnership of Aspirus Merrill Hospital and the Lincoln County Health Department with the Healthy Minds Coalition. ONE PERSON INJURED IN EARLY MORNING SHOOTING IN TOWN OF SCHLEY

TOWN OF SCHLEY – Early Friday morning February 7th, the Lincoln County 911 Center received a call requesting an ambulance for a male subject with a gunshot wound.  Deputies and Merrill EMS responded to the area of CTH X and CTH C in the Town of Schley where they made contact with the injured party.  The male subject suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was treated on the scene.  He was then transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for his injury.  All parties involved have been identified and there…

NO COST WELL WATER TESTING AVAILABLE FOR COUNTY RESIDENTS THROUGH WELLTAP

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Health Department is reminding residents that no cost well water testing is available through the Wisconsin Well Testing Access Program, a.k.a WellTAP. Requirements to qualify include enrollment in a government assistance program, Pregnancy, having a weakened immune system or being under 12 years old. MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING FEBRUARY 2

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 17 incidents last week, including three reports of public nuisance and disorderly conduct and five reports of open warrants and probation violations. There were two reports involving potential scam or fraud, and two calls for juvenile tobacco violations with a vaping device. There was one traffic stop that revealed a concealed weapon. There were two reports of trespassing and two reports of theft.

Vehicle Fire In Merrill Damages Nearby Structures, Home And Family Spared

TOWN OF MERRILL – Around 2:30 AM Monday Morning February 3rd, three units from the Merrill Fire Department were dispatched to a reported car fire near a home on River Rd in the Town of Merrill. While enroute, the fire spread to a deluxe ice shanty and an attached garage nearby. Upon arrival firefighters successfully contained the blaze, keeping it from spreading to the home. MERRILL – Merrill Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle that was broken-down n the intersection of 6th and Sales Sts last Friday, January 31. Upon contacting the driver officers offered to give him a ride home, at which time he admitted to concealed carry of a handgun. He was also found to be in possession of a deputy sheriff badge, which later was found to be stolen from a different jurisdiction. The male driver was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon. MERRILL FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WEEK ENDING FEBRUARY 2

MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 46 calls last week, bringing the total for 2025 to 245 calls. There were 39 calls requesting EMS services. There was one call  regarding a natural gas leak on South Center Ave in the City of Merrill on Saturday, February 1st. There was one alarm system activation on Friday, January 31st on North Sales St in the City of Merrill, however the activation was unintentional.
