LINCOLN COUNTY – This coming Saturday February 1 at 10AM, the Northwoods Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance is hosting a guided snowshoe hike in the Underdown area of the Lincoln County Forest. The trail is well marked and packed, and considered ‘moderately difficult’, with routes varying from one to four hours in length. Those wishing to participate should meet at the Underdown Recreation Area parking lot. LINCOLN COUNTY – Last Week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 32 traffic stops, 41 security checks, and five calls involving cars hitting deer. There were seven reports regarding unsafe driving. On Thursday January 23, a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on USH 51 near Lincoln Dr in the Township of Merrill for speeding. Upon making contact with the 66-yr-old driver from Conover, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. A request was made by the deputy to perform some sobriety tests, which resulted in the driver being placed under arrest…
