VEHICLE STUCK IN DITCH ON STH 86 LEADS TO DRIVER BEING CITED FOR OWI FIRST OFFENSE
LINCOLN COUNTY – Last Wednesday, January 22nd a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the 8300 block of STH 86 regarding a vehicle stuck in a ditch. The driver of the vehicle stated that his dogs had distracted him when he was attempting to turn around causing the incident. Upon making contact with the 47-yr old driver from Merrill, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The driver agreed to sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests was placed under arrest for first offense OWI. Arrangements were made for the dogs to be cared for, and the deputy transported the driver to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital and later released the driver to a responsible party.
