MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 8 incidents last week, including two reports of domestic disturbance and disorderly conduct and two reports of possession of drug paraphernalia. There were two reports of theft and possible fraudulent activity. There was a request for assistance from the Park Falls police dept to obtain a DNA sample from a Merrill resident. CAMPER FIRE NEAR HWY 107 ENDS IN TOTAL LOSS, NO INJURIES

TOWN OF MERRILL – Shortly before 3 PM on Tuesday January 21, the Merrill Fire Department and Merrill DNR Ranger were dispatched to the scene of a possible grassfire off of HWY 107. There was black smoke coming from the field north of Tri-Trucking. Three units were sent to the scene, including Brush-66. Upon arrival, it was determined that a large camper was burning and largely consumed by fire. Brush-66 was used to fight the fire.
