Lincoln County Health Department Promotes Proper Dental Care for Students

LINCOLN COUNTY – Recently the Lincoln County Health Department provided resources to help promote proper dental care to students in 1st thru 8th grade across Lincoln County. Students received a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a dental magnet reminding them to brush twice and floss daily, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and visit the dentist regularly. Merrill Police Department Report Week Ending September 29

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 15 incidents last week. One accident was reported. There were 4 reports of domestic disturbance and disorderly conduct. There were 5 reports for theft and vandalism, Two of those reports were for people stealing political signs from yards. A call was received for suspicious activity. MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 53 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1,704 calls. There were 4 calls regarding smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector and alarm system activation. There was one request to respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries Monday September 23rd on Center Ave., in the City of Merrill. There were 40 calls requesting EMS services, excluding the one call for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Wausau City Clerk Releases Details Surrounding Mayor’s Ballot Dropbox Removal

WAUSAU – Wausau’s City Clerk has released details to the Marathon County District Attorney and Wisconsin Elections Commission of the ballot dropbox removal by Mayor Doug Diny on Sunday. MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 37 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1,651 calls. There were 32 calls requesting EMS services. A call came in on Tuesday September 17 reporting a downed power line on River St that resulted in nearly 3,500 Merrill residents losing power. One call was received on Thursday September 19 with a report of a gas leak.
