Lincoln County Sheriffs Department Report: Week Ending December 8
LINCOLN COUNTY – Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 43 traffic stops and 32 security checks. There were five calls involving cars hitting deer, and one where a car struck a bear. There were three calls for unsafe driving.
On Tuesday, December 3, a deputy conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration on CTH Q in the Town of Scott. Further investigation revealed the 40-year-old driver from Wausau had been stopped earlier that evening in Marathon County and was cited for the expired registration and given a written warning for driving with a cancelled license. As a result, he was taken into custody for a criminal charge of driving without a valid license second offense within three years.
