Lincoln County Sheriffs Office Report Week Ending November 10

LINCOLN COUNTY – Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 21 traffic stops, 15 security checks, and 23 calls involving cars hitting deer. There were six calls for unsafe driving. On Friday Nov. 8th, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Leafy Grove Rd and STH 64 in the Town of Corning for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. The driver, a 75-year-old man from Merrill, believed he fell asleep at the wheel. He complained of rib pain and was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital by ambulance.

Merrill Fire Department Report Week Ending November 10

MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 44 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1,971 calls. There was one call on Saturday November 9th for smoke or odor removal on E 3rd St in the City of Merrill. There were 37 calls requesting EMS services. A call was received Friday November 8th regarding a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the Town of Pine River on CTH W.

Merrill Man Sentenced to 15 Years for 2022 Fatal Shooting

LINCOLN COUNTY – A Merrill man was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Lincoln County Court on Monday, November 11th for a fatal shooting that took place nearly three years ago. Tanner Graap was arrested for the shooting death of a 28-year-old woman at a Merrill residence in January of 2022. He initially stated that he had unintentionally fired the handgun.
