Wausau City Clerk Releases Details Surrounding Mayor’s Ballot Dropbox Removal
WAUSAU – Wausau’s City Clerk has released details to the Marathon County District Attorney and Wisconsin Elections Commission of the ballot dropbox removal by Mayor Doug Diny on Sunday.
CityClerk Kaitlyn Bernarde cited the state statute that calls for her to “report suspected election frauds, irregularities, or violations of which the clerk has knowledge to the district attorney and WEC”.She explained the box was locked but not yet secured for use, with plans to secure and open it later this week.
In the meantime, ballots MAY be dropped off in the city’s payment box outside City Hall.
