Free Well Water Testing Kit Program Expanded to Include Immunocompromised Families in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County residents who use wells for their drinking water are encouraged to have annual testing completed for contaminates. The County Health Dept launched a new program earlier this summer that offers low-income families the opportunity to receive a free well testing kit. They are now expanding the program to also offer a one-time free kit to those who are immuno-compromised. There are a limited number of testing kits available through the free program. MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 51 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1,613 calls. There were 41 calls requesting EMS services, excluding one call of a motorcycle accident on Friday, September 13th. Merrill Hit With Widespread Power Outage on Tuesday September 17

MERRILL – The City of Merrill experienced a widespread power outage on Tuesday, September 17th around 12:20 PM. The outage affected nearly 3500 customers, per Wisconsin Public Service. Service was interrupted due to a downed power line on Logan Ave. behind the River County CO-OP Country Store. The line was clipped by the flagpole atop the old River County Feed mill as it fell to the ground during a scheduled demolition. Power was restored to the majority of the area by 1:56 PM.
