MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department is engaging in fire education in local schools again this fall, with the goal of teaching fire prevention to preschool through 5th grade students. The official theme will be “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you!” for Fire Prevention Week, which takes place October 6-12, 2024. MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to 7 incidents last week. There were 2 accidents reported, one on Theilman St on Saturday, September 7th involving two vehicles and causing property damage. A call was received for vandalism at a local business. On Thursday, September 5th, the School Resource Officer investigated a report of suspicious activity involving a student. Two calls were received for unsafe driving, the drivers in both instances were placed under arrest for OWI. A call was received regarding a tire slashing at a local residence. An…
