Merrill Edward Burns Post 46 Legion Baseball Wraps Up Season Even, Narrowly Misses State Tournament
MERRILL – Following a 12-12 finish in the Wisconsin Valley Conference during the regular season, the Merrill Edward Burns Post 46 Legion Baseball Team finished their 2024 campaign just one win short of a State Tournament berth, losing to Medford in the Regional Championship.
The team was successful at winning a championship at their home tournament for the first time in years. Leading the team was strong group of highly experienced Seniors. The Legion team’s lone all-conference selection this season was Second Baseman Cooper Wendorf, however there were six other all conference finalists. The team’s future looks promising, with a strong group of talented underclassmen set to return next year.
