Merrill Fire Department Weekly Report Week Ending August 11

MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 49 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1365 calls.

There was one motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. There were 38 calls requesting EMS services, excluding the accident that resulted in injuries. There were two building fires and one vehicle fire. The department responded to a call on Thursday August 8 in the Town of Rock Falls where firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames. The owner of the property was the only individual living there and was found outside the home and unharmed.

First responders from 6 different locales and the Salvation Army came to the site to fight the blaze and assist in supporting the effort.
