Merrill Fire Department Report Week Ending August 4
MERRILL – The Merrill Fire Department responded to 48 calls last week, bringing the total for 2024 to 1316 calls.
There were two motor vehicle accidents that resulted in injuries. There were 39 calls requesting EMS services, excluding the two accidents that resulted in injuries.
The department responded to a call on Saturday August 3 regarding a house fire on North Genesee St. As a result of the prompt response from of several area fire departments, crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent any damage to surrounding homes. Three individuals were evaluated for smoke inhalation, with two of those being transported to Aspirus Merrill Hospital for further treatment.
