Merrill First Responders Offer Volunteer Services at Wisconsin Fire and EMS Memorial

MERRILL – First responders from the Merrill Fire Department visited the Wisconsin Fire and EMS Memorial in Wisconsin Rapids on Wednesday August July 31st. They were there to offer maintenance services including mowing and yard work around the grounds and clean-up work in & around the Museum.

The volunteer effort is performed by many firefighters across the state to help with upkeep at the site. Several members of the team joined Fire Chief Josh Klug to complete their mission. During their visit, they were afforded the opportunity to reflect on former Merrill Fire Chief Adlord Talbot, whose death was reclassified as “in the line of duty” this past year. Talbot’s story is recounted in a display inside the museum. His name was added to the Memorial Wall during a ceremony in the fall of 2023.
