Merrill Police Department Report Week Ending July 28

MERRILL – The Merrill Police Department responded to nine incidents last week. One call was received for disorderly conduct resulting in a male suspect being booked into the Lincoln County jail. There was one report of a fire involving a downed power line.  One call was received for forgery fraud, where an individual was scammed out of approximately $3,000 worth of gift cards. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers conducted four traffic stops, with one of those resulting in an arrest on an active warrant, and a second resulting in an arrest for operating while intoxicated, first offense. There was one arrest for OWI following a two-vehicle accident where the driver was found to be under the influence of an illicit substance. The individual was then booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

Officers also responded to a stray dog complaint. The dog’s owner was issued a citation due to previous complaints.
