Rumors Of Merrill Walgreens Closing Unfounded
MERRILL – Despite several on-line reports of proposed Walgreen’s closings, it will continue to be “business as usual” for the Merrill store. According to a memo displayed in the store pharmacy and local store management, the Merrill Walgreens will not be closing, and said the location closure lists that are circulating were not issued by Walgreens. That list of closings included Wisconsin locations in Madison, West Bend, Fond Du Lac and Merrill.
Walgreens has about 8600 locations and the company has stated that, following a strategic review, changes would be coming for the approximately 25% of those stores that are underperforming.
Walgreens corporate communications and their media office have not responded to information requests by WJMT News.
