Planning For Trail Between Wausau And Merrill Gaining Traction

MERRILL – Plans to establish a recreation trail between Wausau and Merrill are gaining traction. Two public involvement meetings have been scheduled, with the first taking place last night at the Lincoln County Service Center. The second meeting is scheduled for next Thursday June 27th in Wausau. The trail project should link not only the two cities but eventually continue on to Tomahawk and connect with the Hiawatha and Bearskin trails, leading trail-seekers well into the Northwoods.

Planning for the trail has received the support of both Marathon and Lincoln Counties, who are also working with local non-profits.
