Merrill Police Department K9 Dasty Receives Clean Bill Of Health

The Merrill Police Departments’ K9 Dasty has received a clean bill of health! Dasty was diagnosed with blastomycosis or ‘Blasto’ in March of 2023. The fungal infection, which is common in our area, can affect humans and animals who breathe in the spores found in damp soil. After several months off, Dasty gradually returned to duty and is no longer taking the required medications. The Department would like to thank the community for their support and generous gifts.

Lincoln County Highway Committee Meeting Notes

The Lincoln County Highway Committee met last Thursday, June 6th. Points of discussion during the meeting included nominations for Vice-Chairman & Secretary, proposals for new equipment purchases, facilities repairs, staffing, and road construction updates. One new Highway worker was hired on Wednesday June 5th, contingent upon completion of on-boarding processes, leaving 4 vacancies. All four summer help staffers have begun working.
