The rain moved out and skies were cyan blue on Monday morning as the city of Merrill held its annual Memorial Day ceremonies at Merrill Memorial Park, giving honor to all who gave their lives for our freedom. Merrill Senior High School Holds 2024 Commencement Exercises

On Friday night, the 141st Merril Senior High Commencement Exercises were held in the High School Fieldhouse. On Wednesday night, Merrill Senior High School’s scholarships and awards were announced, during a live ceremony from the High School Auditorium. The presentation was hosted by Principal Trisha Detert, who was joined on stage by School Superintendent Shannon Murray, MAPS President Kevin Blake and Scholarship Coordinator Kasie Holt. Merrill High School will hold its 141st Commencement exercises on Friday, May 24th at 6PM in the High School Field House. Merrill Police Department Report: Week Ending May 19th

The Merrill Police Department responded to 17 requests for assistance this past week. Six were for vehicle crashes, no injuries resulted from any of the crashes. Five calls were received for disturbances, three of those at local businesses. There were two calls involving minors. Two calls came in for theft, and one report of a tractor dropping unsecured items onto the roadway near the courthouse. Next Monday (May 27th) is Memorial Day, and the city of Merrill is once again prepared to give special honor to the many who gave their lives for our freedom. Lincoln County Sheriff Dept Report: Week Ending Sunday May 19

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 52 traffic stops in the last week. One was for reckless driving, the driver was placed under arrest for 2nd offense OWI & cited for carrying open intoxicants. There was a report of disorderly conduct in Bradley resulting in an arrest that included an outstanding warrant, and two complaints of potentially impaired drivers who appeared to have open alcohol in their vehicles.
