Lincoln County Forestry, Land And Parks Department Announces Temporary Trail Closure
The Lincoln County Forestry, Land, and Parks Department has announced a temporary closure to the north end of the Hiawatha Trail Segment. They are performing an herbicide treatment of invasive species on this section of the trail.
The trail segment between County Highway N and Heafford Road was signed as closed to pedestrian travel and as restricted entry interval required for the herbicide, effective Thursday May 30 2024. The stretch of trail will remain closed on the 31 during the treatments. The short notice of the trail closure was necessary due to the frequency of recent rainfall.
Pedestrians may use Heafford Road as an alternate route around the closed area. Please take note of and follow signs marking the area that is closed.
