Merrill Senior High School Scholarship And Awards Night Held On Wednesday

On Wednesday night, Merrill Senior High School’s scholarships and awards were announced, during a live ceremony from the High School Auditorium. The presentation was hosted by Principal Trisha Detert, who was joined on stage by School Superintendent Shannon Murray, MAPS President Kevin Blake and Scholarship Coordinator Kasie Holt.

Nearly one million dollars in scholarships were presented to the class of 2024.

Among the more than 90 students earning a variety of awards and acknowledgments were Regena Lahti, Bridger Lemmon, Michael Quong, Carson Schmitz and Kayli Wirtala, each receiving a four-year scholarship to U-W Madison. Fifteen Members this year’s Senior Class graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Malaynie Dengel received the Wisconsin Academic Excellence Award for achieving the highest grade point average at the school.

The Merrill Class of 2024 and Commencement exercises will be held on Friday at 6PM in the High School Field House, and will be broadcast live on BLUEJAY 96.3 and the WJMT App.
