Weston’s Greenheck Turner Community Center will be hosting a grand opening for their new facilities this summer.  The grand opening will be on August 1st. The new facilities will offer a vast array of workout & fitness venues, including indoor walking lanes, 2 sports simulators, batting cages, & 4 indoor turf fields with bleacher seating. Investigation into the cause of a duplex fire in Wausau will most likely take a few days given the extent of the damage done to the structure. Apparently the duplex didn’t have functioning smoke detectors. It’s believed that a bystander actually woke up 1 of the people inside. There is currently no suspicion of foul play. The fire likely started in the lower level living room. There was heavy smoke damage in the upper unit. Around 4:45 AM yesterday (Thursday, May 9th) Local Fire Crews were called to the scene of a fire that destroyed a home near Irma. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The home was located along Grandfather Falls on Faufau Avenue near the County Highway E Bridge, on Highway 107. Both the home & unattached garage were considered a total loss.
