Rainy Weekend Helps But Threat of Wildfires Continues

The rainy weekend may not necessarily have offered the most desirable conditions for outdoor activities. However local firefighters are thankful for the much-needed moisture. Fire crews responded to another 6 wildfires in Lincoln County and Oneida County between Thursday and Saturday according to the DNR’s wildfire tracker. As a part of Earth Week, The US Department of Education announced the recipients of their Green Ribbon Schools and sustainability awards. Among those recognized was Eagle River’s Northland Pines School District. Just 41 schools, ten school districts, and three colleges were honored across the nation.
