New Website Domain Coming Soon For Lincoln County Government

As a part of a plan to provide increased security, simplify email addresses and update their website to current standards, the Lincoln County government could soon be getting a new website domain. Currently the county is using co.lincoln.wi.us. The county board approved a resolution this past week that clears the way for a transition to lincolncountywi.gov. The ‘.gov’ addresses are exclusive to US government agencies and organizations. WPS Files Request for Rate Increases for Northland Residents

Northwoods residents could see an up-tick in their utility bills starting next year. Wisconsin Public Service has filed a request with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to establish rates for the next two years for electricity and natural gas. The WPS release states that the proposal could result in a $11-$12 increase per month for a typical electric bill. Natural gas customers could expect an average increase of $3-$4 a month. Energy Efficiency Grants Awarded to Two Local Businesses

A pair of Tomahawk businesses will receive Federal Grant funding to help improve their energy efficiency. Rural Development Wisconsin State Director Julie Lassa announced on Wednesday the 24th that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is funding 19 clean energy projects to lower energy bills, expand access to domestic biofuels and create jobs and new market opportunities for Wisconsin farmers, small business owners and agricultural producers. Longtime Rhinelander resident Paul Haftarski will join an elite group of individual come this weekend. Mr Haftarski starts a new century as he will turn 100 years old on Saturday the 27th. Small business owner Andi Rich announced on Monday that she will be challenging current Republican incumbent Mary Felzkowski to represent Northern Wisconsin’s 12th Senate District.
